Lazaros “Lacky” Plias, 78, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at his home in North Brunswick, New Jersey.
Lacky was born February 19, 1944, in Lemnos, Greece to the late Michael and Grammatiki (Piromaglou) Plias. In 1967, he immigrated to the United States and settled in North Brunswick.
Lacky served as a mechanic for the Army in Greece. He was a skilled car technician who opened P&K Auto Clinic in Highland Park shortly after moving to the United States, along with his business partner John Kanterakis. He was a longstanding and devoted member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway. Lacky was an avid soccer player and enjoyed working on and racing cars.
Mr. Plias was predeceased by his sister, Ourania Kanterakis, and his brother-in-law, Nasos Ladas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Chrisoula Plias; his brother, Costa and his wife Kalliope Plias; his sisters, Christina and her husband John Paftinos; Amalia Ladas and; his brother-in-law, John Kanterakis, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ.
Funeral services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
