James Isola
James Isola passed away peacefully with his wife Christine by his side on Monday March 27, 2023 at his home in Somerset. He was seventy-six years old.
Mr. Isola was born in Huntington, New York. He resided in Long Island for many years and Edison, NJ before moving to Somerset thirty two years ago.
James attended St. Patrick's school in Huntington as a child. He graduated from Rider University and began a lengthy career in banking. He retired eleven years ago from United Bank as a Bank Collector. Mr. Isola loved being outside and exercising or fishing by Colonial park. He volunteered his time for many years coaching with the Franklin Township Soccer Club helping his son William and friends. He traveled extensively to South America and Canada and many National Historic sites throughout the United States. His grandparents immigrated from Bari, Italy. He was always very proud of his Italian Heritage. As a child he loved meeting with his cousins and extended family in Rocky Point, Long Island, to vacation for weekends at his cousin Cira's Mother's House. James was loved in his community and always made sure he guests felt like one of the family went invited over for dinners.
He was a parishioner at St. Matthias Church in Somerset for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Isola is survived by his wife of thirty two years Christine Isola, their son William Isola and his girlfriend Kara Milke.
Visiting will be held on Sunday April 2, 2023 at the Gleason Funeral Home from 2-5 PM. Services will begin on Monday at the funeral home at 9:15 AM followed by a 10 AM funeral mass at St. Matthias Church in Somerset.
