Elizabeth (Betty) Livak, of Somerset passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, October 7th. She was 99.
Born July 25th 1923 in Fords to James S. & Anna (OnDriek) Livak, she had resided in Somerset for 92 years.
She was an Assembly Worker for the Diehl Manufacturing Division of the Singer Sewing Machine Company for over 30 years before her retirement.
Betty was known as the letter and card writer as well as the photographer for the family. She loved to sew, knit, garden and was an avid Yankees fan. Betty also appreciated the beauty of flowers. She was very family oriented and enjoyed more than ninety years of "Fridays Chicken Soup" which was a family tradition.
One of fourteen children, Betty was predeceased by her brothers, John, George, Mike and Frank; and her sisters, Ann, Helen, Mary, Margaret, Lillian and Susan.
She is survived by her brother, Paul Livak of Millstone Township; her sisters Ruth Livak of Somerset, and Dorothy Kalinowski of Manville, as well as many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 10th from 4 to 7 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 11th at 10:30 AM at the funeral with burial to follow in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
