(Friday, August 6, 1948 - Wednesday, October 7, 2020)

Dora Mae Richardson peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday October 7, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was 72 years old.

Dora was born August 6, 1948 in Varnville, South Carolina to the late James and Cora Bell (Green) Lawrence. She lived there as a child and graduated from North District High School in 1966. After graduating, she relocated to New Rochelle, NY to work as a caregiver and then moved to Newark, NJ where she married and raised her family.

She worshipped at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Newark for many years. She began working in her teens and held several jobs in her lifetime, eventually retiring from Revlon in Edison, NJ in the early 90’s where she worked as a line worker. Dora absolutely loved spending time with family, hosting large family gatherings, dining out and going to the casino.

Dora was preceded in death by her husband McArthur Richardson.

She is survived by her daughters Tonya Richardson (Gerald Glover) and Karen Stinson (Eric). She is also survived by her siblings Mary Blaine and Elliott Lawrence; her 5 grandchildren Eric Stinson Jr., J’naia Stinson, Justin Stinson, Jaxon Glover and Cyan Glover; her cousin whom she loved as a sister, Sandra Rivers; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
