Ann Rachinsky, of Monroe Township passed away on Thursday, November 3rd at the St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born and raised in Bayonne, she has lived in Monroe since 2009.
She worked as the parish secretary for the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Bayonne for 20 years before retiring in 2009. She served as the President of the OLMC Home School Association. Ann loved shopping, cooking, and vacationing in Fort Myers, Florida. Ann was known for her fashion sense, unique sense of humor and love of Flamingos. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Jean Szczur, her godson Michael Antice and brother-in-law Mike Antice.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, John J. Rachinsky; sons and daughters-in-law, John & Jennifer Rachinsky of Rahway and Gregory & Cara Rachinsky of Darien, Connecticut; sister, Dorothy Antice of North Brunswick; grandchildren, Jack, Anastasia, Nicholas and Anthony; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph & Mary Pat Rachinsky, nephews, David Antice of Milltown and Joseph Rachinsky of Fairfax, Virginia; and niece, Meredith Smith of Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6th from 2-6 PM at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7th, 9 AM at the funeral home followed by a 10 AM Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church, North Brunswick. Cremation will be held privately.
