Andrew Hagan Annobil of Plainsboro, New Jersey passed away in New York City on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

Andrew was born on July 9, 1992 in Teaneck, New Jersey to Jojo Hagan Annobil and Margaret Odorkor Sowah. Andrew was raised in Plainsboro, New Jersey and attended the West-Windsor Plainsboro schools, where he played saxophone and participated in intramural sports. Andrew also volunteered at SAVE Animal Shelter in Princeton, where he met and adopted a Husky-Shepherd mix, Holly.

Andrew attended Boston College, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications in 2014. After graduating from college, Andrew moved to New York City to work in advertising. He first worked at UM Worldwide. In 2016, Andrew moved to Spark Foundry, a global media agency, and was a senior associate in digital advertising, Andrew enjoyed his work at Spark Foundry where he made lasting friendships and was recently promoted.

Andrew was known for his sense of humor, infectious laugh, and deep loyalty to family and friends. He loved New York City but never forgot his Jersey roots. Andrew never missed an opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends in New Jersey regardless of the duration of his stay.

Andrew was very proud of his Ghanaian heritage. He spent several summers in Ghana during his childhood where he connected with extended family. As an adult, Andrew visited Ghana on several occasions, the most recent of which was in December 2019 to celebrate the wedding of his cousin, Elsie. He reconnected with his large extended family and his last time in Ghana was truly a joyous and memorable one.

Andrew is survived by his loving parents, his loving sister Yacoba, his beloved maternal grandmother, Elsie Sowah of Accra, Ghana, numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family in the United States and Ghana, and friends who loved him deeply. He is forever in our hearts and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, November 24th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873.

Funeral and burial services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Andrew’s name to The Bowery Mission (227 Bowery, New York, NY 10002), where Andrew volunteered and served meals to the homeless.
